Campaigning tirelessly for a Labour-run Ipswich

For a decade I have campaigned tirelessly to help turn Labour candidates into Labour councillors and MPs.

I have worked closely with David Ellesemere and Sandy Martin on their General Election campaigns, and have felt privileged to have supported so many colleagues get elected as local councillors. There are few things more satisfying than seeing friends, who have worked with such dedication, elected after months of campaigning.

We know the difference Labour makes in Ipswich. Despite brutal Conservative cuts to local government, Labour have continued to invest in the town and protect public services. The summer iCard, our wonderful parks, the renovation of buildings in the town centre and the delivery of hundreds of new council houses – all our possible because Labour are in power on Ipswich Borough Council.

However, while there remains a Conservative MP for Ipswich, the town will continue to suffer. We need someone to end Tom Hunt’s divisive politics and start to showing faith and ambition. Someone who will reach out across the political divide and get things done. Someone who will be there to show leadership, through good times and bad.

I have campaigned in Ipswich long enough to know what it takes to run a successful campaign and will build on the solid foundations which already exist. I am serious about bringing about change and I am serious about Labour winning in Ipswich at the next General Election.
