On 28th February, I visited St Elizabeth’s Hospice to welcome the government’s biggest investment into hospices and end-of-life care in a generation.
Celebrating its 35th year, St Elizabeth Hospice has been a cornerstone of support for patients and families across Ipswich and East Suffolk. I met with staff to thank them for their brilliant work, and to see some of it first-hand, too.
I have been a strong advocate for local hospice services, lobbying on behalf of local organisations such as St Elizabeth’s and East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH), to ensure they receive the vital support they need. I am so pleased that both organisations will now receive just shy of a quarter of a million pounds to continue to provide compassionate care and vital support to families in need across Suffolk.
This comes as part of a national £100 million funding boost, which marks the biggest investment in a generation.
